A Brand with heart (and a lot of oats)

When founder Karen Robinson discovered her son was lactose intolerant, she didn’t just settle for what was on the shelf, she created something better.

From her kitchen experiments, Three Robins has grown into a fully-fledged plant-based brand that feels deeply personal. Designed for families, fortified with the nutrients kids (and parents) need and shaped by genuine lived experience.

Three Robins’ playful bird motifs, soft earthy tones, which make up their visual identity, clearly speaks to their audience of children and parents alike. Their website captures this beautifully, communicating images of little robins, cosy breakfast tables and oat-mylk being poured feel warm and inviting.

But Three Robins isn’t just fun to look at, it’s serious about doing good.

Their nutrition-first approach

  • Their oat milks are fortified with essential vitamins and minerals (like calcium, B12, folic acid) and they never add artificial flavourings.
  • Their sugar-smart reformulated chocolate “Choccoriffic” oat drink now has about 50% less sugar than many other chocolate milk alternatives.

Responsible beyond the carton

  • Sustainable sourcing using 100% Scottish oats as part of their production.
  • Safe and inclusive production in a partnership with Glebe Farm, they ensure batches are rigorously tested for gluten using sensitive tests. Making their drinks accessible for those with allergies.
  • As a founding member of The Kids Food and Drink Collective, Three Robins focus on advocacy and community, campaigning for healthier food options for children.
  • They are part of the Buy Women Built community, amplifying female entrepreneurship and making sure founders like Karen get seen.

They get around!

Three Robins recently landed a listing across 177 Scotmid stores, bringing their oat milk and smoothies to more families. In addition to their partnership with Glebe Farm helping them maintain production integrity while growing and without losing sight of allergen safety.

Their community clearly resonates with what they’re building. With fantastic reviews on Trustpilot, parents praise the taste, the subscription model and the nutrition.

“Best oat milk we’ve found! … our kids love drinking it … great they now offer a subscription too.”

“My son loved the smoothies … particularly the berries one! He is allergic to dairy and egg so they are perfect for him.”

Why it matters

In a world overflowing with plant-based brands, Three Robins stands out for its taste and its intention. The design feels joyful, the nutrition feels genuine and the brand’s growth feels rooted in real-life experience. It’s rare to find a company that balances whimsy and responsibility so well.

Three Robins reminds us that food brands can be playful and principled. That thinking about family, community and sustainability. Sometimes, the best innovations come from the kitchen of a parent who just wants something better for their child.
